Poulter And Toms Victorious

There were emotional wins on both sides of the Atlantic as Ian Poulter and David Toms registered their first wins of the year.

The World Match Play was an all English affair as Luke Donald and Ian Poulter went head to head in the final. Poulter was on the brink several times during the tournament, even literally when he slipped down a bank, but he held his nerve to win 2&1. Ahead three times in the final, Donald ran out of steam faltering when the prize and title of world number one was in sight. Despite the slip up, Donald is 16/1 to win the US Open next month.

Over in Texas, despair turned to joy for David Toms as he won his first tournament in five years. Having enjoyed a seven shot lead at the halfway mark, Toms went into the final round one shot behind Charlie Wi. Rather than wilting, he played some of his best golf on Sunday to prevail by one shot. In the process he banished the playoff defeat he suffered last week at the Players Championship.

It was also a winning weekend for Betting Bias golf followers as Toms was flagged up in our Colonial trends at the start of the tournament at 35/1. A final round 65 from Zach Johnson also ensured that our golf tipster was in the money as he collected the place part of a 20/1 tip.
