Panama Claro Championship Tip: Jose Toledo

Panama Claro Championship Tip: Jose Toledo

Finished fourth on the LatinoAmerica money list and should be comfortable in his surroundings this week. Finished 59-30 in two previous visits.

Back in 2014, Jose Toledo was a player who caught my eye and i’ve been quietly watching his progress ever since. He started the season with limited status but made 10/13 cuts and finished the season in the top-20 for scoring average and all-around ranking.

That proved he could compete on the Web.com Tour and after a a bit of meandering he’s back. The intervening years have been spent on the LatinoAmerica Tour and he made his big breakthrough in 2017 winning his first event, the Costa Rica Classic. A solid year saw him finish fourth on the Order of Merit and gain promotion back to the Web.com Tour.

This week’s Panama Claro is therefore a return to home (of sorts) for the Guatemalan, who spent most of his career playing in the conditions he faces this week.
