Italian Open Tip: Benjamin Hebert

Finished 25-20 on last two course visits whilst ranking inside top-20 for accuracy and GIRs. Enjoying a strong season and should contend.

During the height of summer a maiden European Tour win for Benjamin Hebert looked imminent. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to convert good opportunities at the Nordea Masters and Irish Open but still bagged a couple of top-10s to go along with invaluable experience.

Since then the Frenchman has gone off the radar but the golf hasn’t been awful; he’s been making cuts without threatening the cop of the leaderboard.

What I particularly like about Hebert is his record at the Golf Club Milano. On his last two visits he’s finished T25-T20 and on both occasions ranked inside the top-20 for driving accuracy and GIRs. Similar will be needed this week on what is a tree-lined layout with small green. For a player who won six times on the Challenge Tour now is the moment to step-up a level.
