Open D’Italia Tips: Mikko Korhonen

gogolf.fi

Only missed one cut all season and has three top-10 finishes in his last six starts.

Another player with course experience having played in the 2008 Piemonte Open is Mikko Korhonen.

The 33-year-old finished ninth in Italy, nine shots behind Seve Benson but he is an improved player since then.

In 19 events on the European and Challenge Tour this season he’s only missed the cut once; way back in February at the Joburg Open.

The Finn is a model of consistency. In his last six tournaments he’s finished no lower than T38 and has three top-tens during that period, but sat 121st in the Race to Dubai his tour card is in jeopardy.

So far he’s risen to the pressure with a fine run of results and could secure his card with a good showing in Italy. At 70/1 (Skybet) he is a solid each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
