News Sentinel Open: Julian Etulian

News Sentinel Open: Julian Etulian

Finished T9 last year and fifth on tour for bogey avoidance perhaps the key trend at Fox Den this week.

There is plenty of bright young talent on the Web.com Tour this season but many are most their first look at Fox Den CC – not Julian Etulian.

The Argentinian is in his second full season on tour and finished T9 at last year’s News Sentinel Open, closing with an excellent round of 64.

The 28-year-old’s strength is that he doesn’t make many mistakes. This season he is fifth in bogey avoidance and that goes a long way to explaining why he’s made 14/18 cuts. It should also help at Fox Den this week.  The last 10 winners of the News Sentinel Open averaged 23rd for bogey avoidance (median of 16) and is the key statistic this week, along with par-4 performance.

Etulian emerged from a quiet spell with a T12 last week at the Price Cutter but even when he was missing cuts (4 in a row during June/July) he still broke 70 on four occasions. At 66/1 (BetVictor) he is a cracking each-way bet.
