News Sentinel Open: Brian Campbell

News Sentinel Open: Brian Campbell

Leads the tour in the all-around ranking and although he’s missed four cuts recently he’s still shooting under-par.

Brian Campbell shares many similarities with our first selection JT Poston. Both players are just a year out of college but are in a hurry. A top-25 position in the money list and with it a PGA Tour card are realistic aims but both must keep collecting dollars.

Brian Campbell’s season didn’t get underway until April but he was quick out of the blocks with five top-10s in his first 7 starts.

The 23-year-old has cooled with a run of four missed cuts but snapped the streak with a T44 at the Price Cutter Championship last week. The bookmakers have eased him out after that poor run but he’s not playing badly.

Those four missed cuts came with rounds of 68-72-69-72-70-70-71-67 and you can consider yourself slightly unlucky when you miss four weekends despite an aggregate score of 7-under!

Statistically there is a lot to like, Campbell leads the tour’s all-around-ranking and is second in putting average. Last year he was the low amateur at the US Open and he is too big at 66/1 (Sportingbet).
