Nationwide Childrens Hospital Championship Tip: Trey Mullinax

Nationwide Childrens Hospital Championship

Of those dropping down from the PGA Tour, none have a higher all-around ranking than Trey Mullinax.

It’s been a difficult year for followers of Trey Mullinax, there was the T9 at the US Open and a couple of promising starts to tournaments but he couldn’t string four rounds together. Unfortunately in the final weeks of the season he slipped out of the top-125 on the FedEx Cup and is therefore forced to fight for his card via the Web.com Final Series.

The good news is Mullinax has been here before. Last year he came through the regular season money list on the Web.com Tour but also experienced the Final Series and has played OSU Golf Club twice. A T56-MC doesn’t leap off the page but his experience on the PGA Tour means he returns a better golfer.

In truth the Web.com hasn’t produced any outstanding performers this season and those dropping down from the PGA Tour have the edge in class. Mullinax can also count himself slightly unfortunate, of those coming down from the PGA Tour, he has the best all-around ranking (36th), with next best Seamus Power (42nd) half his price in the betting.

I’m confident Mullinax can regain his card through the series and should be on the staking plan for all four events.
