Wu Can Make The Grade

Wu Know The Score

Ashun Wu finished T16-T52-T24 in the Desert Swing on courses that were plenty long enough for him. Should improve back in familiar surrounds.

Ashun Wu was a surprise winner of the China Open last year but early season results suggest it wasn’t a flash in the pan. The 30-year-old has three tour wins to his name and has coped admirably with the step up in grade to the European Tour.

During the Desert Swing, he finished T16-T52-T24 an especially good effort considering the courses in the Gulf are long for a player ranked 189th in driving distance.

Wu’s game is built around hitting fairways and greens, which means he will be better suited by the tight strategic layouts found in Asia.

Having spent most of his career on the Asian and Japan Golf Tour he should adapt quickly to this week’s venue and is overpriced at 110/1(Bet365).
