Charles Howell III is looking for his first victory since 2007 and although he is a dodgy win-only proposition, his price is big enough to make a healthy profit if he finishes in the top-five.
The 34-year-old is one of the most consistent players on tour and is enjoying another good season, with five top-10 finishes. His best results came at the Sony Open and the Humana Challenge, tournaments that are generally regarded as birdie-fests.
The John Deere Classic fits into the same bracket and is an event Charles Howell has enjoyed good results at before. In four previous visits he’s gone MC-T5-T39-T23 with an actual scoring average of 68.2.
With a comparable scoring average to Kevin Streelman and at the same price, Charles Howell III is a good each way bet at 66/1 (Boylesports) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
