American Express: Chase Seiffert

Finished T21 at this event last season but was in the top-5 going into Sunday. Missed cut last weekend but opened with a 65. Putting is a high variance part of his game but he's got upside.

The American Express doesn’t have the pro-am element of La Quinta on the rotation but there is enough on offer to entice us with Chase Seiffert. Last season he finished T21 but was in the top-5 going into the final round until his putting fell apart on Sunday. However, he shot rounds of 66-67 on the Stadium Course and Nicklaus Course so he should be ok with the alteration in rotation.

Last week he opened with a round of 65 but missed the cut after a 72 on Friday. Again it was the putting that cost him with an overnight change of 4.5 strokes gained putting. Clearly this is a high variance part of his game but at least we have the ups.

Seiffert is a golfer i’ve followed and rated, since his Korn Ferry Tours and he has the ability to make a mark on the PGA Tour. He finished fourth at the Workday Charity Open to ‘secure’ his card last season and don’t be surprised if he pops up at a big price again.
