Hong Kong Open Tips: Scott Hend

Enjoying his best year on tour and a regular contender in Asian Tour events. Arrives in great form.

In a weakened line-up, Rory McIlroy is the man to beat but 11/4 seems a bit short in a field of 100+ competitors – it is sport after all and anything can happen. With that in mind, I’m shooting for the stars with Scott Hend at 250/1!

The big-hitting Australian has enjoyed his best ever year on the Asian Tour, 12th in the Order of Merit he also bagged his second tour win in April at the Singapore Classic. One of the best players on tour he is always worthy of respect in any co-sanctioned event.

Despite a missed cut at the Singapore Open, his recent form is good with four top-25 finishes in his last six starts, including a T24 at the HSBC Champions.

With plenty of experience on Asian Tour courses, including a T6 finish at the nearby Macau Open, Scott Hend is massively overpriced at 250/1 (Betfred). Back him each way and get ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
