McGirt Enjoying Career Season

McGirt Enjoying Career Season

Impressive T20 at Riviera considering the course was playing long. Finished T22 last year and only one missed cut in five visits.

Last week Riviera played soft and long which meant the shorter hitters were at a bigger disadvantage than usual.

Ranked 157th in driving distance, William McGirt was one such player therefore his T20 finish deserves a massive upgrade.

The 35-year-old has started the wrap-around season in fine form with five top-25 finishes and only a couple of missed cuts in eight starts. He currently sits in the top-20 in strokes gained tee-to-green and scoring average and that makes him a contender at the tough PGA National.

In five visits to Palm Beach Gardens he has only missed one cut with a T22 last year.

McGirt is still looking for his first tour win in 156 starts but he’s playing great golf and with a good performance under his belt in tough circumstances at Riviera he is a cracking each-way bet at 150/1 (Paddy Power) with 1/5 odds for a top-7 finish.
