Frys.com Open Tips: Bryce Molder

Won the title in 2011 and finished T11 last year. One of the best putters on tour and course doesn’t disadvantage short hitters.

Bryce Molder’s maiden tour victory came at the 2011 Frys.com Open and he warrants respect on his return to CordeValle.

Generous fairways and greens means the tournament often descends into a putting competition and there aren’t many better than the 34-year-old from Arkansas.

Molder finished the season ranked 10th for strokes gained putting, the third year in a row he has cracked the top ten. His lack of distance off the tee means he struggles on longer tracks but at CordeValle this isn’t an issue. Twelve months ago he finished T11 in defence of his title, only five shots behind the winner.

It’s been another consistent year for Bryce Molder with eight top-25 finishes from 24 starts. In weaker company, on a course he enjoys, he should go well at 45/1 (Bet365). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top five finish.
