European Open Tips: Sebastian Gros

European Open Tips: Sebastian Gros

Soft conditions suit a man ranked third in driving distance on tour and finished T3 here last year on the Challenge Tour.

This is the second year that Hartl Golf Resort Bad Griesbach has hosted the European Open but previously it hosted a Challenge Tour event between 2012 and 2014 and it’s worth revisiting those leaderboards.

Sebastien Gros was one of the standout players on the Challenge Tour last year winning twice and finishing second in the money list, including a T3 at this course. The Frenchman was in the final group on Sunday but a stuttering final round saw him finish five shots behind Ricardo Gouveia.

The 26-year-old’s rookie European Tour season has been mixed with periods of good play followed by too many missed cuts. A T28 at the KLM Open however will have boosted his confidence and his power off the tee (third in driving distance) is suited to the flat Beckenbauer Course.

Having come close to winning at this venue last year he is a cracking each-way bet at 250/1 (Skybet).
