European Open Tip: Tom Lewis
Ranked 17th on tour for par-5 scoring average and he's got five of them to tackle this week.
It’s been a difficult season for Tom Lewis as he’s found opportunities difficult to come by. Often first alternate he’s been going to tournaments without getting starts which must be incredibly frustrating.
It’s been a while since Lewis last won (the Portugal Masters in 2011) and his career looks to be one of potential unfulfilled but there is still time. He’s only 26 and there have been signs of encouragement this season.
In his last five tournaments he’s finished 18-11-41-MC-44 and his statistics are good. The Englishman is 17th in par-5 scoring average and 13th in driving distance, this could prove significant at Green Eagle GC which measures over 7,500 yards and has five par-5s to negotiate.
