Dubai World Championship Tips: George Coetzee

Finishing the season in fine form with four top-10s in his last six tournaments.

For many pros the close season can’t come soon enough after a long gruelling year – not for George Coetzee. The young South African is in the form of his life. In his last six tournaments, he has finished T5-T6-T6-T56-T14-2.

Having broken the €1million barrier in earnings this season, the only thing missing is a maiden tour victory, something he could achieve in Dubai this week. Last year he finished T22 in the tour finale, playing the weekend in 8-under, one shot better than eventual winner Alvaro Quiros.

Having familiarised himself with the Earth course I expect him to replicate last year’s weekend form across all four days. If he does that, a high finish beckons. At 30/1 (Paddy Power) he looks the value each-way with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
