Dormie Network Classic Tip: Charlie Saxon
Finished T10 last week despite a quintuple bogey 10 on Thursday! Is 7/8 in cuts made this season and underlying metrics suggest he is playing well enough to win soon.
At the start of the season I picked out Charlie Saxon as a player to follow and now is the time to row in with the 25-year-old. Currently 13th in the Web.com Tour all-around ranking, he registered his best result of the year with a T10 last week.
Saxon is now 7/8 in cuts made this season and ranks highly for a host of underlying metrics, including top-20s for driving distance, GIRs and birdie average. A win should be coming sooner rather than later and I was especially impressed that he was able to bounce back from a quintuple-bogey early on Thursday to make the cut last week. But for that one hole Saxon would have finished third.
I know very little about the Briggs Ranch course they are playing this week; it is a new event on tour so instead i’m just going for a player I rate extremely highly.
