Crowne Plaza Invitational Tips: Jeff Overton

Finished T3 in 2010 and has a good record in Texas. Double the price compared to last week.

Jeff Overton put in a solid performance at the Byron Nelson last week but the bookies have doubled his price, so I am going in again.

The 29-year-old has an excellent record in Texas, with six top-10 finishes from 15 starts, one of those top tens coming at Colonial in 2010. His final score of 17-under would normally have been enough to win, but unfortunately he ran into an inspired Zach Johnson who set a new tournament record of 21-under par.

Overton also has a T13 finish at Colonial on his CV and was in good shape heading into the weekend in 2011 before falling back into the pack.

Having made the cut in his last five tournaments, Overton arrives in good form and should go well on a course he has enjoyed playing before. At 80/1 (Paddy Power) he is a solid each-way bet with ¼ odds for at top-5 finish.
