Bogota Championship: Tyler McCumber

Multiple-winner in South America but elevated his game by winning three-times in 2018 and topping the money list in Canada. Finished T4 last time out in the Bahamas.

Tyler McCumber has recognisable surname for most golf aficionados but the 27-year-old is treading his own path and is a player to watch out for. Another massive hitter, he’s added the finesse to his game that enabled him to win three times on the Mackenzie Tour Canada last season and top the money list.

McCumber’s hot streak has carried over onto the Web.com Tour where has finished T37-T4 in his first two starts, going very close in the Great Abaco Classic; in an event I didn’t think would play to his strengths.

Bogota CC looks much more to his liking and he finished fifth here in 2015 when nowhere near the player he is now. South America has been kind to McCumber, he won the Peru Open in 2016 (a nice link with Charlie Saxon) and score twice on the LatinoAmerica Tour in 2014.

Conditions should hold know fears, he’s in great form and should be favourite for this event.
