Classic Sabbatini wins in Florida

Rory Sabbatini remained as calm as the winds on Palm Beach as he held off the charge of YE Yang to win by one shot. After seeing his five shot lead cut to one, Sabbatini made birdie on 16 to give him some breathing space. After weathering the ‘Bear Trap’, a par at the last was enough to seal victory.

After a year of health scares for both he and his wife, it was an emotional Sabbatini who lifted the Honda Classic. Famed for saying in 2007 that Tiger Woods was ‘beatable’; the straight talking South African may just have been ahead of the curve. This weekend he proved he could also stay ahead of the field.
