CIMB Classic Tip: Rafael Cabrera Bello

Has finished tenth on his last two visits to TPC Kuala Lumpur and course renovations won't cause him issues. Putted well on bermudagrass at the Players Championship.

Rafael Cabrera Bello made enough money on the PGA Tour last season to finish 41st in the FedEx Cup; not enough to make the Ryder Cup but plenty to gain a tour card and an invite to the CIMB Classic.

The Spaniard isn’t the most reliable of closers but he should do enough to place in a tournament that plays to his strengths. On his last two visits he’s finished T10-T10 with a scoring average of 68.75. If that wasn’t enough TPC Kuala Lumpur has been renovated with all paspalum grass replaced with bermudagrass. Fairways and greens are now the same (in grass terms) as TPC Sawgrass not a bad pointer for a player who has gone MC-T4-T17 in Florida.

Cabrera Bello is fantastic tee-to-green and if he can get the putter going he should make plenty of birdies. For the extra insurance take the 30/1 with Paddy Power and get 7 places at 1/5 odds.
