Children’s Miracle Classic Tips: Greg Owen

Ranked in the top-10 for putting in his last two tournaments. Will contend if continuing that form.

After injuring his hand at the Open Championship and then being outclassed during the Playoffs, Greg Owen has sprung to life in the Fall Series. He’s finished T22-T7 on his last two starts and is an aggregate 20-under for his last eight rounds.

That makes him one of the players to follow and he should go well at Disney Resort Florida having made the cut every time he’s played the tournament.

Having been coached by Sean Foley and his team in recent seasons, Greg Owen has people in his corner who know how to win this tournament. Stephen Ames, a previous pupil of Foley’s, won this event twice in 2007 & 2009.

The Englishman’s weakness has always been his putting, ranking 16th for GIRs but 169th for strokes gained putting equals missed opportunities. However, in the last two tournaments the flat stick has heated up, with Owen ranking 6th and 9th for strokes gained putting.

If he can carry that confidence into the CM Classic then he could be a lively outsider at 55/1 (Skybet) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
