BMW Pro-Am Tips: Denny McCarthy
Is 6/7 in cuts made this season and finished T26 here last year despite a cold putter.
Denny McCarthy has featured in this column on numerous occasions already this season and I’m determined to get a win out of him.
Last year was one of acclimatisation but now he knows the courses, this should be a breakout season for the 24-year-old.
Solid throughout the bag, McCarthy is 6/7 in cuts made and recorded a season’s best finish T8 at the Mexico Championship on his last start.
McCarthy finished T26 in the BMW Pro-Am last year but barely made a putt across the four days. Driving accuracy and GIR never dipped below 70% across any of the four rounds. If he can get hot on the greens he could be difficult to stop at 50/1.
