Barracuda Championship Tip: Corey Conners

Ranked 27th for GIRs on tour but making putts has been a problem. Hopefully change of format will free up this talented young Canadian.

At the start of the season I thought Corey Conners was the most likely Web.com Tour graduate to win on the PGA Tour and that looked like happening sooner rather than later after he contended on Sunday for the Valspar and Corales Championships. Unfortunately that win failed to materialise but with the world’s best in Arkon this is the perfect opportunity for the Canadian to open his account.

Conners hasn’t shown much of late with consecutive missed cuts in the Barbasol and Canadian Open but the modified stableford format presents a slightly different challenge this week. Making birdies and eagles is the challenge and ranked 27th on tour for GIRs, Conners will create plenty of opportunities.

Holing putts has been the problem for the 26-year-old but the change of format could free him up.
