2013 Sports Personality of the Year Contenders
Cyclists have won two years running but Andy Murray is the favourite before the new year even begins.
As expected, Bradley Wiggins was named BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday evening and he is 20/1 (Skybet) to retain the title in 2013.
Early favourite is US Open tennis champion Andy Murray (4/1 Sportingbet) with track and field star Jessica Ennis 6/1 (Ladbrokes) to go one better after finishing as runner-up this time.
England cricket captain Alistair Cook is 8/1 (WilliamHill) to top the poll with long-distance runner Mo Farah the same price with the same firm. But one wonders how likely that is having missed out on the top three in the year he won double Olympic gold at the London Olympics.
