Olympic Rowing Tips: GB Women’s lightweight double sculls

Clocked a time in the semi-finals considerable quicker than any of their rivals.

The beauty of betting on the Olympics is that although some of the sports might seem unfamiliar, the basic premise is the same. In rowing for example it is all about beating the opposition but it certainly helps if you are the quicker crew over 2km.

In the ten finals so far at Eton Dorney, the boats with the biggest percentage time advantage over their opposition have won gold.

The men’s pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond enjoyed a 7.71sec advantage over their nearest rivals in the semi-finals, which equated to a 1.89% lead. Come the final they duly demolished their rivals to win gold.

This pattern has repeated itself throughout the Olympic regatta as the crews with the big time advantages in the semis have converted strength on the clock into gold.

The British pair of Katherine Copeland and Sophie Hosking enjoy a sizeable 0.73% time advantage over their closest rivals in the women’s lightweight double sculls.

When compared to the completed finals it ranks as the third largest time advanatage. Crews with a similar superiority have gone on to win gold and at 8/11 (Ladbrokes) we can back the British pair with a degree of confidence.
