Free Bet Buster 18/2/12

Last weekend both our selections were refunded thanks to the bookmakers’ cashback offers. We look at some betting angles to make the most of their generosity.

Sprint Series (Sat 3.25 Lingfield) – Blue Square
For this Saturday’s seventh round races at 3.25 and 4.00 Blue Square are offering money back if your horse is beaten by less than a length! Max. refund £50.

Verdict: To make the most of the concession you want to back a fast finishing horse.  Hold-up horses are favoured at Lingfield more than the other all-weather tracks. Nubar Boy is a perfect example. His last to first style of racing isn’t always succesful but he is rarely beaten far. He has finished within a length of the winner, or won, in his last three starts over course and distance.

Selection: Nubar Boy to win the 3.25 Lingfield at 3/1 with Blue Square.

Stevenage v Tottenham: Double Delight / Hat-trick Heaven – Betfred
Double Delight: If your player scores the first goal of the match and then goes on to score another, Fred will double your first goalscorer price.
Hat-trick Heaven: If your player scores the first goal of the match and then goes on to score a hat-trick, Fred will treble your goalscorer price.

Verdict: With Harry Redknapp’s stock sky-high, he will be desperate to avoid this FA Cup banana skin so expect a strong starting XI to take to the field. Jermain Defoe has slipped to third in the striking pecking order below Louis Saha but he is a likely starter and keen to impress.

If Defoe gets one goal, he is the type of clinical finisher to bag two or three against inferior opposition.  He is 3/1 (Betfred) to open the scoring, odds that could be doubled or trebled if he finds the net more than once.

Selection: Jermain Defoe first goalscorer at 3/1 with Betfred.
