A Year In Numbers: 2011

If you had staked £10 per a point, you would have made over £4,300 profit. We review our 2011 tipping year.

All our tips can be found in our archive section but to save you trawling through 12 months worth of tips here is a quick summary.

Tips: 940
Winners: 153
Strike Rate: 16.3%

Points Staked: 1,163
Profit: 438.2
Return on investment (ROI): 37.7%

That means if you had staked £10 per point on all our tips you would have made £4,382.05 profit .

All our results are settled at our advised prices but we understand that markets are fluid and people cannot always get those odds. However, this is also why we advise readers to sign up to multiple bookmaker accounts through our site and take advantage of all the free bets on offer with the different firms.

Our general rule of thumb is you need to be getting within two-thirds of the advertised price to be turning a profit in the long term. For example if Horse A was advised at 3/1, you don’t want to be backing it any shorter than 2/1.

Although the numbers are impressive, there will inevitably be lean months. To help you survive those and make the most of the good times we have revived our article on staking plan, which is well worth a read.

We hope we found you some winners along the way and that, at the very least, you have enjoyed our analysis. Even if you don’t follow our tips we hope we have introduced some new dimensions to your betting. A belated Happy New Year and we wish you all a profitable 2012.
