Vettel Wins to Top Standings

Red Bull: Winning Again.

The German double world champion put all his early season problems behind him in Bahrain.

After two consecutive races finishing outside of the top four, Sebastian Vettel needed just one victory to re-establish himself at the top of the Formula One standings on 53 points. The reigning champion is 2/1 (Boylesports) favourite for the Drivers’ Championship after stopping the rot in Bahrain.

Lewis Hamilton (5/2 BetVictor) is just four points back despite coming a disappointing 8th on Sunday. It was a weekend to forget for McLaren who also had Jenson Button retire on the final lap. The 2009 champion is on 43 points and 4/1 (Bet365) for the title.

Mark Webber (18/1 bodog) came fourth for the fourth race in a row; in a season of bizarre topsy-turvy results that’s enough to keep the Australian within five points of his Red Bull team-mate.

It was a great weekend for Lotus who put two drivers on the podium for the first time since 1979. Kimi Raikkonen (20/1 Betfred) followed Vettel home in second with Romain Grosjean (66/1 bodog) finishing an honourable third.
