Singapore GP Preview
We check out the trends of past Singapore winners; the only night race on the F1 calender.
McLaren have been in the ascendancy, winning the last three races and are 11/10 (Paddy Power) to provide the victorious car.
Fernando Alonso is still odds-on favourite for the title but the bookmakers think Lewis Hamilton is his most likely rival. The British driver is a best price 4/1 (Bet365) for the championship.
Value of pole position
The Singapore GP has been won by the pole-sitter for the last three years although in 2008 Fernando Alonso won from 15th on the grid. The power of pole could be a trend that continues as drivers get to grips with the novelty of a night race.

Driver to watch
Fernando Alonso’s record in Singapore is 1-3-1-4 and some of those results were achieved despite the car.

Retirement Rate – Above Average
A twisty street circuit, Marina Bay provides its fair share of shunts. Singapore has one of the worst record for finishers, with on average only 65% of the starting line-up making it to the chequered flag.
