Italian GP Tips: Dual Forecast

Vettel and Alonso were in a different league at Spa and there is no one quick enough to split them.

The Belgian GP wasn’t the most exciting race ever staged at Spa but it could be the blueprint for the rest of the season.

Sebastian Vettel was a comfortable winner, with Fernando Alonso finishing 16.9s behind in second place. There was then a gap of a further 11.8s back to Lewis Hamilton in third.

If you account for the fact Alonso fought back from ninth on the grid, then the top two drivers were comfortably quicker than their rivals. This impression is confirmed by examining the three tyre stints in the race; Vettel and Alonso were again the quickest cars on track.

I can’t see the picture changing dramatically at Monza which is a similar low down-force track. Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso have both won twice at the track and there is very little to split the pair.

Because it is so hard to predict a winner the best bet is a Vettel/Alonso dual forecast at 7/2 (Ladbrokes). If they finish in the top-2 in any order, we win the bet.
