Indian GP Tips: Paul Di Resta

No points failure for Di Resta

Finished in the points in four of his last six races and his team will want to put on a good show at their home GP.

No team will be more desperate for a good result than Force India in their home Grand Prix. Whilst many constructors will be already focussing on their 2012 cars, Force India will be making every effort to impress this weekend. I expect at least one of their cars to make it into the top ten and I am backing Paul Di Resta at 6/5 (Paddy Power) for a points finish.

After a mid-season blip the young Scot has regained his form with four top tens in the last six races. This includes a career best 6th place in Singapore. As mentioned in our preview piece the Buddh International Circuit is another Herman Tilke designed venue.

So far this season we have already raced on six Tilke designed circuits: Malaysia, China, Turkey, Valencia, Singapore and Korea. Isolating results at just these six venues, Paul Di Resta shows the most improved form. He finishes on average one position higher on a Tilke circuit. Incidentally, Michael Schumacher finishes 5.4 positions lower, suggesting he is struggling to get to grips with the new F1 tracks.
