German Grand Prix Tip: Rosberg On Pole
Light rain could turn qualifying into a lottery. The Mercedes is quick enough to cause an upset if they time it right.
The weather forecast for qualifying is light rain. If this proves correct then we could have another lottery as the track changes conditions through the session. We could be faced with a very similar scenario to Silverstone, where timing is crucial.
Nurburgring 5 Day Forecast
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg fell foul of the weather as they began flying laps just as the ran started to fall. Despite the worsening conditions Rosberg still put in a terrific lap; he was heading for a fifth spot on the grid before he slid. That moment provided a glimmer of what he can do on a damp track if he times his run better.
A third place on the grid in Turkey proved he can mix it with the big guns. If the rain comes to add a random element to proceedings then he could capitalise at 50/1.
Skybet are going 1/5 odds for a top three finish in qualifying, giving us some margin for error if things don’t go exactly to plan.
