Belgian GP Preview

After the summer break, F1 returns with the Belgian GP at the majestic Spa-Francorchamps.

The formula one season restarts in Belgium after the summer break. Lewis Hamilton is 3/1 (Boylesports) to finish where he left off, with another victory.

Value of pole position
Despite overtaking opportunities, grid position has stood up well at Spa. Four of the last five winners started on the front row of the grid. The 2009 Belgian GP was the exception when Kimi Raikkonen came from sixth to win. This wasn’t totally unexpected as Giancarlo Fisichella’s Force India took a surprise pole after teams struggled with their setups.

Driver to watch
Kimi Raikkonen adores the Belgian GP, no surprise considering he has won four times.  The terrifyingly quick track holds no fears for the ice-cold Finn.

Retirement Rate –Average
Over the past five seasons the Belgian GP has seen 74% of cars reach the chequered flag, putting it in the middle of the pack in terms of finishers.
