After thrashing West Brom and closing the gap on rivals United, it was a pleasing set of midweek results for Manchester City fans. Unfortunately, one good night doesn’t mask the general downward trend, no matter what the bookmakers make you believe. Odds of 4/7 (Betfred) on an away win seem ludicrously short to me.
All the hype surrounding the title race unfortunately detracts from one of the biggest performances of the last seven days - Norwich winning at White Hart Lane. Sitting a comfortable 10th in the Premier League, Paul Lambert and his side should really receive the plaudits Swansea have garnered of late.
Since the turn of the year Norwich have bagged 22 points compared to City’s 29. Factor in home advantage and there probably isn’t much between the two sides. That makes the 6/1 (Boylesports) on a Norwich home win inexplicably large.
