Women's Wimbledon Tip

The big success story of the last 12 months - a poor French Open is rarely a reason to discount a reigning US Open & Australian Open champion.

The women’s Wimbledon draw is as wide-open as ever and I wouldn’t blame punters for wanting a piece of Serena Williams at 8/1 - a price rarely ever seen for the 7-time champion. But she’s there for a reason after failing to win a major title in nearly 2 years.

Instead I’d recommend Naomi Osaka at twice the odds - 16/1 is best out there, with Bet365. The Japanese star was world number one until a few weeks ago, and a brief dip in form may be to her benefit. The pressure was starting to tell and she has spoken of her happiness to be back slightly under the radar at the All-England Club.

The 21-year-old is still the reigning US Open and Australian Open champion and could be the game’s next big star. She has the favourable half of the draw and if she can overcome a tricky 1st round opponent in Putintseva, we could see her really blossom.
