Wimbledon Men's Tip: John Isner

The key to the value at this huge price is the draw which has been very kind to the big serving American.

The Wimbledon draw has come out massively in favour of players in the top half and that’s where we should look for a spot of long shot value.

John Isner is still best known for his part in the longest match in history when the American triumphed 70-68 in the final set of his clash with Nicolas Mahut at the All-England club back in 2010. But the 17th seed has the game to take advantage of a kind draw.

At 6ft 10in, Isner can be close to unplayable on grass when he gets his serve going and he should negotiate the first couple of rounds without too much concern.

After that he is likely to face Marin Cilic who isn’t the same player that won the US Open due to a persistent shoulder problem.

In the last 16 Isner would be most likely to play Kei Nishikori who has also had recent injury problems and who has never advanced beyond that stage of Wimbledon regardless.

If any problems were to befall Djokovic, the top half of the draw looks wide open and John Isner could just cause a US riot by winning at best odds of 200/1 with Paddy Power. Go each way and get paid out at half odds if the former top-ten player reaches the final.
