Tomic v Berdych Tip

The brash Australian is making his mark at SW19, and not for the first time.

Controversial Australian Bernard Tomic looks good value at best odds of 11/5 (Boylesports) to dump out former finalist Tomas Berdych on Monday.

The man from Queensland, whose father is banned from Wimbledon for allegedly assaulting his son’s hitting partner, has been making some headlines for the right reasons at last.

Tomic has emerged from a beast of a draw to overcome 21st seed Sam Querrey, former world number four James Blake and most recently number nine seed Richard Gasquet. The 20-year-old has enjoyed his time at the All-England before having become the youngest player to reach the quarter-finals since Boris Becker in 2011.

For such an established top player, Berdych has had plenty of disappointments in south-west London down the years. His first round exit last summer was the seventh time in nine attempts that he has gone out by the last 16 or earlier. Having also crashed in the first round at Roland Garros recently, the Czech is distinctly vulnerable here.
