Wimbledon Tip: Wozniacki v Paszek

Wozniacki: A mediocre record a Wimbledon

The number seven seed won't relish facing the winner of last week's Eastbourne warm-up event.

Upsets were rife on the opening day at Wimbledon and there’s an obvious candidate for another one on day two. Caroline Wozniacki, the perennial Grand Slam underachiever can’t be happy to be facing last week’s Eastbourne winner, Tamira Paszek on Tuesday.

The underdog is a best price 15/8 (Betfred) to beat the seventh seed who has never been past round four at the All-England Club. Paszek has done better than that herself having reached the quarter-finals last year, toppling Francesca Schiavone in the process.

But even more impressive was the 21-year-old’s WTA triumph on grass only last Saturday. Paszek saved a remarkable five match points before overcoming Angelique Kerber in the Eastbourne final.

If the Austrian number one still has juice left in the tank then she could cause another high profile casualty on Court 2.
