Wimbledon Tip: Tsonga v Hewitt

Hewitt: Gutsy

The glamour match of the men's first round should see Tsonga progress, but not without a scare.

Perhaps the most crowd-pleasing encounter in the first round of the men’s singles sees the entertaining Jo-Wilfried Tsonga drawn to face 2002 champion Lleyton Hewitt.

The Australian veteran is nearing the end of his career, but he will fight to the last to go out on a high. He continues to raise his game for SW19, despite some horrific draws, reaching at least the fourth round every year but one since 2004.

Hewitt is not only incredibly gutsy, he may also be facing Tsonga at the right moment. The French star injured his finger in an unexpected defeat at Queen’s and we don’t know if he is completely ok at this point.

That said, I think it’s far too much to expect the 31-year-old to roll back the years and beat the fifth seed, but he should have his moment. PaddyPower go 11/10 on Hewitt simply winning a set and his big match appetite should make that very likely.
