Nadal Cements Favouritism for French Open

Nadal: Still King of Clay

The Spaniard beats the world number one to win the Italian Open for a record 6th time.

Rafa Nadal served notice that he is still very much the man to beat on clay by claiming the Italian Open final six days before Roland Garros begins. The Spaniard saw off Novak Djokovic 7-5 6-3 after bad weather pushed the event into Monday.

Nadal is just 5/6 (PaddyPower) to win the French Open for a remarkable seventh time. Djokovic has eased to 9/4 (Ladbrokes) while Federer - now back down to number three in the world - is 8/1 (Boylesports).

Britain’s Andy Murray is all the way out at 35/1 (Boylesports) to triumph in Paris after exiting the Italian Open in the third round at the hands of Richard Gasquet.
