Furno Too Hot To Handle

Scored a try and made another against Scotland and his move to the back-row should provide even more opportunities to score.

Italy might be odds-on for the wooden spoon after their defeat to Scotland but they shouldn’t be written off quite yet.

Apart from ten second half minutes against France, the Azzurri have been more than a match for their opponents.

At 25/1 (Bet365) they could spring a surprise against an Ireland side licking their wounds after their Grand Slam ambitions went asunder at Twickenham.

Italy will be missing their talisman Sergio Parisse but they still have a formidable pack. Marco Bortolami returns in the captain’s absence meaning Josh Furno moves from the second-row to blindside flanker and that should increase his chances of scoring.

The 24-year-old was outstanding against Scotland, scoring one try and assisting another, whilst his three line breaks equalled the tournament high.

Furno is overpriced at 50/1 (Paddy Power) to score the first try, back him each-way and get ¼ odds if he is one of the first three scorers.
