France v Australia Tip

Won on their last two visits to France and recent form suggests Australia should be odds-on

The ‘big-3’ southern hemisphere teams have been so dominant against their northern counterparts they should not be odds-against, despite playing away from home. Australia are a best price 6/4 (William Hill) to beat France in Paris and the odds just seem wrong.

The Wallabies have won close to 70% of their autumn internationals against Six Nations opposition. Even if you discount victories over Italy, there is still a 53% strike rate. France, on the other hand have won just one of their last four, losing twice to Australia in 2008 and 2010.

Recent form also favours the Wallabies. They finished second in the Rugby Championship (formerly Tri-Nations), whereas France finished fourth in the Six Nations. Their only victories since the rugby world cup have come against Italy, Scotland and Argentina.

All the evidence points to an Australian victory and they should be odds-on rather than 6/4 (William Hill).
