England Evens for Grand Slam

England ground out victory in a sodden Dublin, leaving them as the only potential Grand Slam winners.

Twelve months ago it was a game England would have lost, but Stuart Lancaster’s team showed maturity beyond their years to win a gruelling encounter with Ireland 12-6. In difficult conditions, Ireland made numerous handling errors that hampered their progress, especially in the first half. Whilst the likes of Chris Robshaw, Ben Youngs and Owen Farrell were able to control the situation more effectively.

England face France and Italy in successive home games before travelling to Cardiff to face Wales. With more than half the tournament to go there is plenty of time for twists and turns, but the bookmakers make England evens (Coral) to win the Grand Slam. Good news for those who followed our England Grand Slam tip at 11/2, but there is still plenty of rugby to be played.
