Silviniaco Conti to win Gold Cup
3.20 Cheltenham
9.00 UPDATE: A slightly distressing end to Thursday with the injury sustained to JT McNamara – we wish him all the best.
There’s potentially 4mm of rain forecast and the official going is Good to Soft, Good in places although we await an update on the GoingStick reading.
9.06: Sunnyhillboy is out of the Gold Cup. That could free up Tony McCoy to ride Sir Des Champs.
10.10: Newspaper Picks
The newspaper tipsters have focused on the Gold Cup (3.20) and the majority have gone with Bobs Worth. He is the choice of seven pundits, with Captain Chris, Sir Des Champs and Silviniaco Conti all getting two votes each.
10.35: It was a score draw for our resident tipster yesterday. A good start with Cue Card winning the Ryanair quickly went wrong as Peddlers Cross and Poquelin were both pulled up.
He has three selections today with a big price in the 2.05. Read his thoughts here.
10.45: McCoy is confirmed aboard Sir Des Champs Gold Cup. No movement in the price, he’s still 4/1 (Bet365).

13.37 Our Conor demolishes the Triumph field. A stunning performance and a future star perhaps? It’s a winning start for our resident tipster who flagged up the strength of his form.
TRIUMPH HURDLE RESULT
1. Our Conor 4-1
2. Far West 4-1
3. Sametegal 33-1
But to be honest the rest were nowhere, that was a 15-length victory.
14.19: Bryan Cooper is having some week. He rides his third winner of the Festival in the County Hurdle
COUNTY HURDLE RESULT
1. Ted Veale 10-1
2. Tennis Cap 11-1
3. Manyriverstocross 25-1
4. Shadow Catcher 16-1
14.24: Going Change: Soft (Good to Soft in places)
14.48: Tony McCoy gets on the board with At Fishers Cross winning the Albert Bartlett.
Next up is the Gold Cup and our final significant interest in this year’s Festival. Our tipster has gone for Bobs Worth but the ground might be turning against him. Best of luck with your selections and we hope it has been an enjoyable and profitable four days.
