York Tips: Maggies Angel
Earning an adjusted speed figure of 93 on debut at Ripon, impressive for an early two-year-old.
There’s a couple of horses I like in the 2.20 York, with both Neola and Maggies Angel over priced but I’m giving the nod to the latter. Both ran big adjusted speed figures last time out but Maggies Angel ran hers on debut whilst Neola already had a run under her belt.
The other positive is the trainer. Richard Fahey won this race last year with Vona, therefore knows the quality of filly needed to take the prize.
Maggies Angel wasn’t particularly well drawn at Ripon but despite racing wide she powered home to a 2.25 length victory. Her closing sectional was 0.35s quicker than anything else in the race and the 7th fastest at the track from the last 664 runners (when using the 3f pole to take the split).
