York Tips: Bambino Lola
Looked to be travelling strongly at Goodwood last time but combination of strong pace and extra furlong told. Should be better back at sprinting and kindly treated at the weights.
Seven of the last ten winners of this race have carried less than 9-0 and Bambino Lola fits the trends and much more. Last time out she finished fifth in a decent handicap at Goodwood but the way she raced suggests a step back to 6f will be ideal.
With 2 furlongs to go she was still travelling strongly and looking like the potential winner but she ran out of gas. A combination of racing prominently behind a true gallop and the extra furlong, saw her effort peter out. Back down in trip she should be more competitive and she wasn’t beaten fair in a Group 2 contest as a juvenile, so has ability.
