York Tip: Carlton Frankie

Showed tremendous early speed at York earlier in the month but just ran out of gas and probably not helped by the draw. Lightly raced and should be thereabouts again.

Carlton Frankie showed blistering early pace over course and distance earlier in the month and a repeat of that performance should see him go close again. The handicapper has nudged him up 1lbs but that shouldn’t make much difference. The only horse that could live with him up the centre of the track was Major Jumbo and there was little to separate them at the line.

Unfortunately the low numbers held sway that day and from stall 3, Carlton Frankie could have a favourable draw. In defeat he earned a sectional adjusted speed rating of 86 and possibly went a little too quick early in the race.

A lightly raced individual he should be winning on sharp tracks on fast ground this summer and that is what he;s got at York.
