York Tip: Bengali Boys

York Tip: Bengali Boys

Wide margin victory in Super Sprint Stakes attributed to soft ground but fastest closer by 0.85s and earned adjusted speed rating of 106.

I’m struggling to think of a better juvenile performance this season than when Bengali Boys routed the field in the Super Sprint Stakes to win by 6 lengths. Considering he was rated 85 going into the race, it was an incredible win.

Such a wide margin victory throws up as many questions as ti does answer but on the clock the performance stand’s up to scrutiny. He ran the fastest closing sectional by 0.85s and earned a whopping adjusted speed rating of 106.

Richard Fahey attributed the improvement to the soft ground therefore he shouldn’t be inconvenienced by underfoot conditions at York, assuming it doesn’t dry out too much.

If gets close to his Newbury speed rating he should win again because he races un-penalised in what is only a Listed contest. Stall 1 could be tricky but he could be a potentially smart juvenile.
