Yarmouth Tips: Mohatem
Owner has 39% strike rate at Yarmouth and Mohatem showed ability prior to being gelded.
Mohatem hasn’t stood much racing, this being his seventh start despite being a 5-year-old but he’s got ability and hopefully stays sounds this season.
A maiden winner on turf, he should handle conditions and showed a fair level of form when second on his first start for Owen Burrows. Tracking an overly strong pace, he was the only prominently ridden horse to fight out the finish, with the other three all well beaten.
He’s been gelded over the winter but previously shaped like a mid 80/low 90s horse. He could be well handicapped off a mark of 83 and given Hamdan Al Maktoum 39% strike-rate (20-51) at Yarmouth he’s an interesting contender.
